Logo Low Rez JpgHaving won three of their last four games Crusaders are now in the coveted eighth position that will qualify them for the playoffs, but they are in competition with Northumbria, Birmingham A’s, and Glyndwr Nets for three spots in the playoffs. Any of these teams can end up in sixth to ninth place, depending on how the remaining games play out, and Crusaders will still have to rely on other results, even if they win their remaining two games.

The current standings between the four teams is this:

Though Northumbria are looking quite comfortable at the top of that group, they play second place Brixton Topcats next, a game they will be hard pressed to win. A loss to Brixton will put Northumbria straight back into the mix with the other teams.

Glyndwr has an easier schedule, but not by much. Next they play number three Mansfield, a game that’s hard, but the Nets might edge out a surprise win. Then they play a potential playoff deciding game against Birmingham A’s before playing bottom dweller University of Birmingham in the last round. Losses to Mansfield and Birmingham A’s could see Glyndwr fall out of playoff contention.

Birmingham A’s have a tough schedule ahead. First they play number one Edmonton, then they have the matchup against Glyndwr, before playing number five Westminster in their last game. The A’s will almost certainly have to win two of their last three games to qualify for the playoffs.

Crusaders have next weekend off before playing bottom dweller University of Birmingham, whom they beat 83-45 last time. The last game of the season will likely be a thriller as Northumbria and Crusaders will battle it out for a playoff spot.
