The Kent Crusaders are looking to rebound from two straight Division 2 defeats as they take on Division 3 Brixton Topcats in the National Cup looking for a quarter final berth.
Brixton have defeated division 3 rivals Hackney and London Towers to reach the third round of the cup. They’ve recorded only one loss for the season, a five point division 3 loss against Glamorgan Gladiators, and are still in contention for the division 3/4 National Trophy beating out Guildford Heat 2 and Southampton Trailblazers.
Crusaders coach Mads Olesen expects a tough game: “Brixton are very athletic and it’s always tough to play at their place as they have a loud crowd. We will have to be on our best game and play smart to beat them”:
Brixton and Crusaders have met five times before when both teams played division 3 from 2004 to 2006 with Crusaders winning two, Brixton forfeiting one and Brixton taking two.
Crusaders will be missing Mike Webber, who has personal business to attend to, Steve Findley and Rikki Broadmore out with injuries, and Simon Mitchell is doubtful with a hamstring injury.
