Crusaders will see an old friend as Crusader veteran Steve Findley will return to face Crusaders wearing a blue and yellow Sevenoaks jersey. The second round National Cup matchup sees Crusaders take on the in-county Division 4 Suns.

Sevenoaks Suns basketball club was founded in 2005 and entered both men and women teams in English Basketball League. The club has had substantial success on the women’s side, but are still trying to get off the ground with the men.

Based on youth team success, the club entered a women’s team into EBL2 South in 2006. Immediately successful, they won the National Trophy and finished second in EBL2 Women South, winning promotion to Division 1 where they have played since.

Sevenoaks Suns entered Under-16 Men in 2005 and in 2006 they finished 3rd in the South Conference in both Under-18 and Under-16. They entered a men’s team into EBL4 in 2007, and have played Crusaders in the National Cup every year since then, with Crusaders winning all the matches.

A win will likely set up a meet with last year’s undefeated Division 1 champions Reading Rockets who feature another former Crusader, Robbie Parker.
