Kent Crusaders face Cardiff Celts this weekend in a league and Patrons Cup double header. On the Saturday the two teams play an important division two game, which head coach Mads Olesen has highlighted as the focus of the weekend. Cardiff are new to the league having been promoted from EBL3 South last season with a 12-4 record. Cardiff have started this season in tremendous form winning their opening three league games, so Crusaders will have to improve on their performance last weekend if they want to take anything from this game.

Coach Olesen commented ”This game is about us. We have shown we can play with every team in this league, when we play well. Now the challenge is to do that consistently for 40 minutes on Saturday night.”

The Sunday game is Crusaders’ final game in the Patron’s cup this year as they have no chance of advancing into the semi-finals. With a win the Crusaders would finish with a 3-2 record – the same as Cardiff, Leicester and Northampton, but as the tie breaker is games against teams with the same record, Crusaders’ losses against Leicester and Northampton would mean early exit. Cardiff however can gaurantee themselves a spot in the semis with a win in this game, so they have it all to play for.

Both games tip off at 5:00pm at the Coleg Glan Hafren
