Kent Crusaders face Cardiff Celts this weekend in a league and Patrons Cup double header. On the Saturday the two teams play an important division two game, which head coach Mads Olesen has highlighted as the focus of the weekend. Cardiff are new to the league having been promoted from EBL3 South last season with a 12-4 record. Cardiff have started this season in tremendous form winning their opening three league games, so Crusaders will have to improve on their performance last weekend if they want to take anything from this game.
The Body and Mind Kent Crusaders take on Tees Valley Mohawks in National League Division 2 play this Saturday.
Tees Valley is a side with strong traditions, as they have won three Division 1 regular season championships and four playoff championships since 2000. At the turn of the century they were National Trophy winners for a record five consecutive seasons (1999-2003), won Division 1 three times, and the Championship on four occasions (including three in a row in 2002, 2003 and 2004).
This weekend the Body & Mind Kent Crusaders both have to deal with the start of League play and a National Cup matchup with defending Division 1 winners Worthing.
The second Plymouth team of Division 2 and the Patrons Cup – Plymouth Marjon Cannons, formerly known as Tamar Valley Cannons – are visiting Body and Mind leisure centre in Canterbury this Saturday. The Cannons come to Kent with a mixed record this year in the Patron’s Cup having beaten form team Leicester by 9 points, but lost out to Cardiff, while having beaten Plymouth Raiders 2 in the National Cup. This game is important to both teams if they want to progress in this competition with having one win in the Patrons Cup.
